Summary:The space charge measurement was conducted on the mineral oil-paper and natural ester oil-paper with different moisture contents. With increasing the moisture content, more positive charges deeply penetrated into two kinds of oil-papers. The rate of negative charge injection in the natural ester oilpaper was always faster than that in the mineral oil-paper. The electric field distortion factor illustrated that the electrical performance of the mineral oil-paper is always better than that of the natural ester oil-paper regarding different moisture contents. After applied voltage was removed, the stronger electric field and higher moisture content were closely related to the rapid charge dissipation in the mineral oil-paper, but space charges in the natural ester oil-paper dissipated quickly regardless of the electric field strength and moisture content.
