Summary:Recovery of visual strain is very important to VDT operations. Visual strain caused by continuous VDT operations was newly evaluated in accordance with an electronic method in terms of both the functional degradation of visual accommodation and the index changes of visual strain. On the other hand, visual strain caused by continuous VDT operations was found to be recovered by psychological treatment in accordance with an electronic achromatizing method actualized by comparing the recognized colors with their complementary colors. In accordance with these evaluation and recovery methods, the visual accommodation can be recovered while the subject is watching a picture of a fake virtual far point. The recovery of visual strain was evaluated by the new parameters representing the levels of visual strain.
