Summary:The synchronization of physiological processes is an important parameter for understanding the regulatory mechanisms of the human body. The study was focused on the developing methods and software module to determine the synchronous behavior epochs of the pulse intervals and systolic blood pressure during their simultaneous registration. Algorithm for evaluating epochs of synchronization based on a comparison of the two phases of data sequences defined by the Hilbert transform. The phase difference is analyzed in the gliding window. Neighboring phase points are considered to belong to the interval of synchronous behavior, if within the specified time interval standard deviation of the difference in the phase is less than the certain threshold. As a quantitative characteristic of the synchronization level we consider the fraction of the synchronous behavior epochs in relation to the total duration of the analyzed data series. It was statistically shown (p <; 0.05) that the coefficient of synchronization might be used as a prognostic marker of the different groups of subjects. We found the significant correlation of this coefficient with a measure of variability of the arterial baroreflex sensitivity.
