Abstract The electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness of nano-antennas, consisting of multi-walled carbon nanotubes cast on WSe 2 -coated carbon fiber reinforced polymer, was investigated at the microwave frequency range between 26 to 40 GHz. The measurements show an enhancement of shielding effectiveness from an initial value of -55 dB to -70 dB at 30 GHz for carbon fiber-reinforced polymer coated with a monolayer of WSe 2 and patterned with multi-walled carbon nanotubes. This heterostructure shows promises for applications in electromagnetic interference shielding.
