Summary:The Multi-cyclone Steam Power Plant Holtekamp confronts issues with fly ash accumulation in its flue duct and the adhesion of wet fly ash to water film-coated walls, leading to obstructions in the flue gas pathway to the Induced Draft Fan (IDF) and subsequent damage to the water film wall and IDF. The Multi-cyclone system's inadequate performance is evident in uneven flue gas distribution and reduced efficiency, especially for particles under 10 microns. Short-term solutions involve Multi-cyclone modifications, with the closure of the center section in Multi-cyclone 4 offering the most promising efficiency increase of 48.2%, albeit with a higher pressure drop. For longer-term mitigation, three options are considered: Multi-cyclone modification, Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) procurement, and Bag House Filter acquisition. Utilizing the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), scores of 55.4, 73.3, and 80.8 are assigned to these options, with the Bag House Filter emerging as the most effective choice. In conclusion, addressing the challenges faced by the Holtekamp Steam Power Plant requires immediate action. Both short and long-term measures have been explored, and based on the AHP evaluation, the implementation of a Bag House Filter is recommended to rectify the issues stemming from inadequate fly ash management.
