Abstract Kunliulong (Kunbei Liuzhou Longmen) hybrid multi terminal DC project, as the largest DC project completed and put into operation in China Southern Power Grid (CSG), has unique characteristics such as single station online switching on/off, DC fault self clearing, and its operation reliability has attracted widespread attention. This paper analyzes an abnormal fluctuation event of system power caused by the wrong position signal of line connection disconnector, sorts out the action sequence of multi terminal DC power regulation for asynchronous networking, studies the feasibility of adding fault monitoring and error prevention criteria for disconnector position nodes, and proposes corresponding optimization methods. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed methods is verified by engineering debugging in this paper. The system operation reliability is improved because of that, which provides a reference for other similar projects.
