Summary:The study discusses the design of a device for the visually impaired, that informs the subject of the nature and distance of the object in front of them via auditory cues. Tasks enabled are reading or identifying objects, analysing ambient environment, identifying an emotion on the face of a person in close proximity. Results of prediction score of 0.75 and 0.80 respectively are obtained. Face recognition of listed people are is with a best accuracy of 90.05% and that of objects has been 97%respectively with test case cohorts of batches of 10 instances each.
