Summary:The relationship between IoT implementation and economic sustainability lacks some quantitative assessment. Consequently, this study attempts to quantitatively validate the relationship between IoT maturity within an organization and economic sustainability. Two hypotheses were developed based on the literature. The hypotheses relate IoT maturity to both cost reduction and asset management. An instrument was developed and tested on a sample of 50 inventory managers. The results provide evidence that the instrument is both reliable and valid. The results present evidence that there are strong significant relationships between IoT maturity and both cost reduction and asset management leading to economic sustainability.
