Summary:To produce rapidly increasing (/spl sim/100 ns) voltage pulses (/spl ges/300 kV) on inductive-active loads, the scheme of a two cascade opening switch of the final contour of helical flux compression generator (FCG) has been considered. The FCG with the helix internal diameter 10 cm at the initial powering /spl sim/1 kJ produces the current up to 6 MA in the inductive load /spl sim/30 nH. In the first cascade of current sharpening the opening switch with the copper foil rupture at the ribbed barrier under the effect of HE-charge explosion products was used in the experiments. In the second cascade the electrically exploded wires were used. The circuit calculation results as well as the experiment setup and results are presented.
