How Spenser Excavates Du Bellay's "Antiquitez"; Or, The Role of the Poet, Lyric Historiography, and the English Sonnet

Coldiron shows that even as Edmund Spenser replicates closely Du Bellay's content and "mille lumieres," Spenser also creates a new way of writing the lyric sequence, and a newly optimistic view of the poet's role in history.
