Abstract | Migration impacts the life of families in the majority of countries around the world. This research describes and compares the psychological resources of children that have migration experiences within their family and those that haven t had these experiences. A total of 177 elementary students from the Jesus del Monte community in Michoacan (Mexico) participated in this mixed methodology study. In the quantitative area the following scales were used: Psychological Resources Scales and Evaluation of Interfamilial Relationships. In the qualitative area focus groups and a puppet game were used. The research found that the migration experience impacted on boys and girls in a similar way, as these children demonstrated that they have a higher level of development of family resources (unity and support) than participants with families that haven t experienced migration. |

Esta investigacion describe y compara los recursos psicologicos de los ninos y ninas que tienen experiencia de migracion dentro de su familia con los de quienes no la tienen. Participaron 177 estudiantes de primaria de la comunidad de Jesus del Monte, Michoacan (Mexico). Aplicamos una metodologia mixta. En la fase cuantitativa empleamos las Escalas de Recursos Psicologicos y de Evaluacion de las Relaciones Intrafamiliares. En la fase cualitativa realizamos grupos focales y un juego con marionetas. Encontramos que la experiencia de migracion impacto de manera semejante a los ninos y ninas, quienes mostraron un mayor desarrollo de sus recursos familiares (union y apoyo) que quienes no tenian experiencia de migracion familiar. Este estudo descreve e compara os recursos psicologicos de criancas que tiveram e que nao tiveram a experiencia da migracao em suas familias. A amostra foi composta de 177 participantes de uma escola primaria em Morelia, Michoacan (Mexico). Este estudo utilizou metodologia mista. Na area quantitativa empregou-se as seguintes escalas: Recursos psicologicos e a Avaliacao das Relacoes Intrafamiliares. Na area qualitativa criou-se um jogo que constituiu no uso de bonecos, alem dos grupos focais. Verificou-se que a experiencia da migracao impacta de forma semelhante a meninos e meninas que apresentaram maior desenvolvimento dos seus recursos familiares (uniao e apoio) do que aqueles sem migracao familiar.
