Abstract Background: This study aim to determine whether a myofascial fitness exercise program using a well-being band can improve muscle tone, upper extremity function, and quality of life in breast cancer survivors who have completed surgery and adjuvant treatment. Methods: Twenty-four patients with breast cancer participated in this study and were randomly assigned to one of two groups: the myofascial fitness exercise program group using a Well-being band (n=12) or the foam roller exercise group (n=12). The experimental group performed myofascial fitness exercises, while the control group performed foam roller exercises, both conducted twice per week over a four-week period. Outcome measures included muscle tone assessed with the Myoton-PRO, upper extremity function level evaluated using the disabilities of the arm, shoulder, and hand (DASH) questionnaire, and quality of life measured by the functional assessment of chronic illness therapy–breast (FACT-B). All measurements were obtained at baseline and again four weeks after completion of the intervention. Results: The results of this study showed the myofascial fitness exercise program group using the well-being band showed significant differences in muscle tone, upper extremity function, and quality of life (p<.05). The foam roller group showed significant differences in regard to muscle tone and upper extremity function levels, but not in quality of life (p<.05). Conclusion: Both myofascial fitness exercises program and foam roller exercises program were effective for patients with breast cancer, especially when combined with well-being bands and foam rollers, in terms of upper extremity function and quality of life.
