구성주의 관점으로 본 7차 이후 초등학교 수학 교과서의 변천 양상

우리나라는 교과서의 위상을 학교 수업 중 교사와 학생의 상호작용 속에서 가장 중요한 매개체라고 보아왔다. 그러나 교육을 보는 기본 관점으로 학습자 중심의 교육을 지지하는 구성주의 학습 이론이 도입된 이후, 우리나라 초등학교 수학 교과서에도 변화가 생겼다. 여러 선행연구에 따르면 구성주의 철학은 7차 초등학교 수학 교과서에 가장 큰 영향을 미쳤으며, 7차 교과서는 이전 차수 교과서와 다르게 구성주의적 관점을 교과서에 도입함으로써 교과서 구현의 여러 측면에서 큰 변화를 보였음을 언급하고 있었다. 본 연구에서는 구성주의 관점으로 7차 이후 각 차수별 교과서를 살펴보았을 때 교과서에 구성주의 관점이 어떻게 구현되고 있는지 살펴보고 그 변천 양상을 고찰하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 7차 이후 초등학교 수학 교과서를 대상으로 구성주의에서 강조하는 지식의 조작적 성격과 사회적 성격이 어떻게 구현되고 있으며 학생의 다양성을 어떻게 고려하고 있는지를 중심으로 고찰하였다. 그 결과 7차 이후 초등학교 수학 교과서에는 교과서의 차시 내 전개 방식과 발문 형식의 측면에서 각 차수별로 변화 양상을 보였으며, 기타 차시의 구성 방식 또한 학습자의 다양성을 반영하여 교과서의 차수에 따라 지속적인 변화를 보이고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 바탕으로 향후 교과서의 개발 방향에 대한 논의 및 시사점을 도출하였다. The status of textbooks in Korea was an important medium for the interaction between teachers and students. Recently, constructivism that supports learner-centered education has been introduced as a basic perspective on education, and textbooks have also changed. According to several previous studies, constructivism had the greatest influence on the 7th math textbook. The 7th textbook showed significant changes in various aspects of textbook implementation by introducing a constructivist perspective into the textbook. In this study, we tried to examine how the constructivist perspective is implemented in textbooks for each order after the 7th textbook and to explore the changes. To this study, we examined how the operational and social characteristics of knowledge emphasized in constructivism are being implemented in math textbooks after the 7th textbooks and also how students' diversity was considered. As a result, in elementary school mathematics textbooks after the 7th curriculum, the method of developing activities and questioning of textbooks showed learner-centered changes differently than before. In addition, the contents of extra-lessons according to order of curriculum were continuously changing and reflecting the diversity of learners. Through this, discussions and implications on the future direction of textbook development were derived. KCI Citation Count: 0
