비판적 사고 능력 함양을 위한 시각예술 수업 방안 연구 - 창작실기 수업을 중심으로

본 연구는 시각예술 분야에서의 비판적 사고의 관련성과 필요성을 모색하기 위한 하나의 시도로, 비판적 사고 능력 함양을 위한 시각예술 수업의 필요성을 제기하고 그 구체적 방안을 제시하려는 이론적 연구를 수행한다. 이를 통해 시각예술 창작실기 교육과정에 접목될 수 있는 비판적 사고 교육의 기본적 방향을 탐색하고, 이를 잘 적용할 수 있는 교육의 틀을 구성해보려 한다. 본론에서는 우선 시각예술 교육에서 비판적 사고 능력이 왜 필요한 것인지 그 이유와 정당성을 논의하고, 기존 시각예술 교육의 문제점들을 지적한 뒤 이를 극복하기 위한 구체적인 방안을 모색하는 순서로 논의를 진행한다. 아울러 본 연구는 기존의 창작실기 수업처럼 기본적인 스케치와 데생능력 등 재료를 다루는 기술을 필요로 하지 않기 때문에 예술 전공자들 뿐 아니라 비예술 전공의 학생들도 충분히 참여할 수 있는 가능성을 열어두고 있다. 시각문화에 익숙한 요즘의 학생들을 위한 비판적 사고 교육의 한 방안으로 창작활동을 매개로 한 교양수업을 개설하여 텍스트의 분석과 평가를 중심으로 하던 기존의 비판적 사고 교육의 한계점들을 보완할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 향후 연구를 심화하는 과정에서 이러한 시도가 갖는 의미와 교육적 효과를 검증할 수 있는 실증연구가 병행되어야 할 것이다. This study tries to reveal the necessity of critical thinking education at the field of visual art, and suggests a detailed educational way of promoting critical thinking skill and attitude in the visual art class. For this, the main part of this study goes through the reason and justification of the needs of critical thinking skill and attitude in visual art education, the problems of the existing curriculum of visual art, and the specific alternative method to overcome that problems. This study additionally opens the possibility of a new general education class for the non-art- major students, because the suggesting new class does not need any prepared technique of treating basic art skills like dessin and drawing. The current university students are very familiar with visual culture rather than traditional text-oriented environment. Thus we even expect that the new critical thinking curriculum in the medium of art creating will supplement the existing critical thinking class focused on just text analysis and evaluation. For the future study we suggest the empirical research to show the educational effects of this curriculum development. KCI Citation Count: 1
