Summary:Experiments were designed to study the influence of operation conditions and system physical properties on the residence time distribution (RTD) of the dispersed phase in the modified Scheibel extraction column. RTD of the dispersed phase was measured with the pulse tracer method. The model parameter n of the perfect mixing tanks-in-series model was obtained and a correlation was proposed. The maximum relative error for all data is -14% and the mean relative error is plus or minus 5.9%. The correlation can be used to study the RTD of the dispersed phase in the modified Scheibel extraction column.
