Summary:Dear Editor, We would like to comment on a paper [1] in Travel Medicine and Infectious Disease that looked at the repellency protection offered to humans by plant-based p-menthane-3,8-diol (PMD) or Citriodiol® (referenced in this article as Citriodora) against Ixodes spp. ticks. The US Environmental Protection Agency recognize the alternate generic name "oil of lemon eucalyptus" or OLE.it may be of interest to your readers that other unpublished studies on these ticks using human subjects have been undertaken, each resulting in significantly longer protection times.
