Watermelon and muskmelon are important horticultural crops, and their planting benefits are relatively high. But a- long with the expansion of their protective cultivation area, the continuous-cropping obstacle and soil-borne diseases are becoming more and more serious. Grafting is an effective method for overcoming soil-borne diseases, and it has a very important significance for improving the yield and quality of watermelon and muskmelon. This paper summarizes the latest research progresses of watermelon and muskmelon rootstock breeding in 2014 in the world.
