Thermal infrared hyperspectral imaging system is powerful at target detection and discrimination for its high spectral resolution. Advanced researches on these instruments have not been conducted in China. The relevant research works in the world including China were summarized and reviewed in this paper. The future development is prospected considering the undergoing research projects in China.
