台湾象草区域试验研究

During 2006 to 2008, a regional trial of Pennisetum purpureum Sehum cv.Taiwan, bred by Guangxi institute of animal science, was carried out in three different ecological zones in Nauning, Baise and Changsha, using [(Pennisetum purpureum cv.Mott)x(P. americanum x P.purpureum)] cv. Guimu No.l as control. The results showed that Pennisetum purpureum Schum cv.Taiwan grew fast, had wide adaptability, cold resistance. Average hay yield of Pennisetum purpureum Schum cv.Taiwan was 46351.32-53903.84 kg/hm2, increased by 10.02%-23.73% compared with control [(Pennisetum purpureum cv.Mott)×(P.arnericonum × P.purpureum )] cv. Guimu No.1 (41919.12-44137.66 kg/hm2).The quality of the grass was soft, protein content (10.5%) increased by 9.4% compared with control. Pennisetum purpureum Schum cv.Taiwan was an excellent forage.
