Abstract | The encapsulation optical component shaped in an elliptical dome over the LED chip and the mixing of multiple types of fluorescent materials in an appropriate ratio improves colour rendering properties and distribution controllability while suppressing colour variation. The developed technologies can be applied to produce an LED luminaire that resembles a compact ceiling-light but can be used as a downlight with the light intensity equivalent to a 60W incandescent lamp and light quality comparable to a fluorescent lamp. |
