The 35-kDa protein (p35, lipocortin I, annexin I), originally discovered as a Ca(++)-dependent substrate for the EGF receptor tyrosine kinase, binds Ca++ and phospholipids, is developmentally regulated in embryos and has restricted expression in adults.
