Summary:Collagen was examined during experimental lesion of the liver with carbon tetrachloride in the presence and absence of colchicine. The experimental animals were Wistar rats, young, of both sexes. The fate of collagen was determined by quantitative assessment of the soluble fraction in salts (NSC), of the soluble fraction in acids (ASC) and of the insoluble fraction (ISC). The results that were obtained indicate protective action of colchicine during the experimental lesion of the liver with CCl4.
