Abstract | La concentration de spermidine dans la glande mammaire de lapine a été évaluée au cours de la gestation, de la lactation et après induction de la synthèse du lait par la prolactine et les glucocorticoïdes
in vivo et
in vitro. La mammogénèse et la lactogénèse pendant la gestation et l'initiation de la sécrétion du lait à la parturition sont accompagnées d'un accroissement de la concentration de spermidine dans la glande mammaire. Par contre, l'induction de ces phénomènes par injections d'hormones ne nécessite pas de telles variations de la concentration de spermidine. En culture d'organe, une légère augmentation de la concentration de spermidine se produit en présence d'insuline, de prolactine et de cortisol. La spermidine ajoutée à un milieu de culture est incapable de mimer l'action du cortisol. Une amplification de la synthèse des caséines et une augmentation parallèle des RNA messagers des caséines est provoquée par le cortisol même lorsque la synthèse de spermidine est bloquée. Il apparaît donc que la spermidine n'est pas le médiateur d'une des actions majeures des glucocorticoïdes sur la lactogénèse.
