AbstractList Polybenazoles have been developed by US Air Force researchers as super heat resistant polymer which could surpass the traditional aramid fibers. PBO has superior tensile strength and modulus. This work investigates the chemical composition and the structure of poly(p-phenylene-2,6-benzobisoxazole) (PBO) fibres using solid state NMR.
