Summary: | The IMA report was commissioned by a panel appointed by the former Prime Minister Ehud Barak and headed by Adi Amora'i former deputy minister of finance and member of the Knesset. The formation of the panel was one of the main conditions for ending last year's 127 day doctors' strike (see Lancet 2000; 356: 320). The IMA's report is one of six opinion papers being considered by the Committee. The other contributors include the Clalit Health Fund, the four medical school deans, the health ministry, and the finance ministry. According to a representative from Amora'i's office the committee "hopes to present an informed stance by the beginning of 2002". |
