Summary:Determination of thumb length in children is helpful in the diagnosis of congenital syndromes and in the evaluation of the outcome after reconstruction of the thumb in congenital or post-traumatic conditions. Two hundred and sixty-two normal children were examined with a simple technique to procure information related to age, the thumb length dominance and sex. Out of all these, data growth curves and percentiles were constructed as a guideline to detect pathologies and syndromes in children.
