Time to truly acknowledge what nursing preceptors do for students

Through a mailed survey, 86 nursing preceptors reported that preceptoring was an informal, extra duty and mostly not part of a job description. It was concluded that preceptors require higher quality preparation, systematic support, and acknowledgment of their work.
