Homogeneous nucleation followed by deposition of colloidal precipitate particles is the most probable layer growth mechanism in this case. AbstractList The forced hydrolysis of aluminum sulfate, in the presence of urea, can be used to uniformly coat spherical submicron particles of Ce-stabilized ZrO2 with a continuous film layer of alumina. Homogeneous nucleation, followed by deposition of colloidal precipitate particles, is the most probable layer-growth mechanism in the case of the use of dilute coating solutions to prevent the simultaneous precipitation of separate coating-material particles.
