Abstract | In this paper, the current-controlled DC–DC buck converter from a new perspective are studied through the switching theory of flow, and the analytical conditions of the switching motion at the collision boundary and time boundary are both developed. Various mapping structures in periodic and chaotic status are visualized through phase trajectory and time sequence diagrams. The evolution of capacitor voltage, inductor current at the boundary are illustrated via bifurcation diagram, and its high-frequency and low-frequency situations are developed, respectively. The distribution of the system’s mapping structures with varying the reference current and voltage are also exhibited systematically, which can demonstrate quite different forms and reveal the motion characteristics of system. The G-functions are closely related to the boundary motion and the mapping structure, so the switching behaviors of the system can be well analyzed by the G-functions. The simulation and experimental results through Field Programmable Gate Array technology are also shown, and the chaos and periodic motions of system at the boundary are observed to validate the theoretical analytical conditions. |
