Abstract The paper considers the potential applications of interference pigments for artistic and coloristic decoration of textiles made of synthetic fibers. A method for the preparation of interference pigments on the basis of silicon dioxide with metal oxide nanolayers was developed. The synthesized pigment was used to print patterns, and evidence was obtained for their high quality and ability to increase the strength of the fiber material.
