Abstract | In this paper, we present a method by which to naturally heat and cool buildings in areas of moderate climate. The movement of air is generated inside a space by conduits of underground heating/cooling. A feasibility study of air-conditioning and heating by a system of ground source heat pump, GSHP, in Algeria is described in this work. It consists of modelling the temperature of the ground to various depths for a clay soil in the 'wilaya' (City) of Tlemcen. The model employed is developed starting from the non-stationary heat equation for a homogeneous medium, and using the daily ambient temperatures during a typical year for the locality considered. The results of the study showed the feasibility of the heating/cooling by GSHP in Tlemcen for the type of ground considered. The GSHP can provide an important pre-heating representing between 70% and 90% of the energy of heating. |
