Reaction of mercury(II) halides with 1′-(diphenylphosphino)ferrocenecarboxylic acid (Hdpf) affords [HgX 2(Hdpf- P) 2] or [HgX(μ-X)(Hdpf- P)] 2 complexes (X=Cl, Br, I) depending on the stoichiometry of the educts.
