Summary:An alternative to the pseudo-harmonics method for perturbed neutron flux reconstruction is presented together with a number of applications relevant to a one-energy group, 2-D fast reactor model. Global and intense localized perturbations were simulated. Previous versions of the pseudo-harmonics method have presented serious convergence problems when applied to 2-D reactor models in the case of very intense localized perturbations. The alternative described in this work was able to overcome these problems and is thus considered to be a powerful tool for dealing with intense 2-D perturbations in nuclear reactor problems.
