Summary:A new type of chemical optically induced reaction is described during which the colliding molecules absorb (emit) a photon and simultaneously new molecules are formed. The exchange reaction of a halogen molecule with a noble gas atom and simultaneous absorption was analysed. The analysis shows that the absorption coefficient at respective frequencies and atmospheric pressure can reach several reciprocal centimeters.
