Summary: | Previously abstracted from original as items Metals Abstracts 199507-56-0457, Aluminium Industry Abstracts 199506-P.6-0052. A review is presented on researches into various conditions of heat treatment aimed to attain high strength in aluminium base alloys with preservation of rather high corrosion resistance. The researches reviewed are mainly related to the processes proceeding on ageing. To prevent corrosion cracking of alloys types V95, V95T1 two-stage ageing is suggested. Subsequent holding at temperatures of 110-120 and 160-170 deg C enables morphological changes in grain boundary precipitates without structural changes in a grain body. The prospects of development of new heat treatments are discussed as applied to high-strength corrosion resistant aluminium alloys intended for aircraft industry. |
