A Simple Phase Unwrapping Errors Correction Algorithm Based on Phase Closure Analysis

Phase unwrapping is a very classical problem for the exploitation of SAR interferograms. Although many algorithms have been proposed to solve this problem, there are still many phase unwrapping errors on noisy interferograms or interferograms with sharp discontinuities. Therefore, we propose a simpl...

Summary:Phase unwrapping is a very classical problem for the exploitation of SAR interferograms. Although many algorithms have been proposed to solve this problem, there are still many phase unwrapping errors on noisy interferograms or interferograms with sharp discontinuities. Therefore, we propose a simple algorithm to correct these errors based on the analysis of the borders of the incorrectly unwrapped regions on triplets of interferograms. This approach has been tested on two InSAR datasets in Lebanon and Turkey and has proven to efficiently decrease the number of unwrapping errors.
