Through a thorough discussion of works by Oskar Kokoschka, Hermine Moos, Lester Gaba, and Herta Müller, this paper offers a philosophically and historically informed perspective on the skinnedness of skin, integrating its symptomatic, semantic, and aesthetic dimensions from a comparative literary perspective.
