Case 1, with long-standing myelofibrosis, showed hepato-splenomegaly and ascites. The enormous spleen extended deep into the pelvis. The second case, had a retroperitoneal tumour displacing both the spleen and the left kidney. Histology was that of a liposaroma. Clinically and by conventional radiography, the findings were unanticipated. They clearly testify the significant role of CT in pre-operative procedures, and are the basis of this report.
