| Abstract | Pattern-reversal electroretinogram (P-ERG) was taken in 56 eyes of 28 subjects, 13 males and 15 females aged 4 to 9 years old with anisometropic, ametropic and strabismic amblyopia who had good central fixation and were otherwise healthy children. As reported by Arden, the ratio of response amplitude of amblyopic eyes to that of fellow eyes was higher than 0.8 in 80% of those children with anisometropic and ametropic amblyopia and in 89% with strabismic amblyopia. The visual acuity of those patients was improved by the subsequent orthoptic treatment. In all of those children tested this time, the similar results were obtained; the ratio was higher than 0.9. |
