Summary:The paper presents the results of research into the influence of the titanium foil thickness on the impact response of metal-ceramic ZrO 2 /Ti/ZrO 2 /Ti composites consisting of nonrigidly joined plane-parallel layers. The difference is shown between the deformation behavior of the metal foils in composites with foil thicknesses of 100, 200, and 500 μm. It is found that an increase in the thickness of reinforcing metal layers leads to a higher structure dispersion in the deformation localization zone. The deformation and fracture features of each layer of the composites are studied in detail. A comparative analysis is made of the structural characteristics of materials before and after impact loading.
