Summary:This study focused on the relationship between the mineralogical composition of hydrothermal mineralization and the structure and lithology of host units with specific reference to the Kolyma passive continental-margin terrane (Northeast Asia). The long geological history of the terrane was shown to be reflected in the geochemical specialization and distribution patterns of gold–rare metal and porphyry copper mineralization. The Proterozoic host units of the Kolyma region influenced the geochemistry and isotope composition of the ores. The imbricate–thrust structure of the terrane was formed in the Precambrian and underwent several episodes of reworking in the Phanerozoic, thus contributing to the repeated rejuvenation of the ores.
