Summary:Abstract With MgCl 2 and AlCl 3 as raw materials, nano Mg/Al LDHs were synthesized in situ during the process of chitosan gel formation, and then CS/LDHs composite multilayer hydrogels were prepared and characterized. After calcination at high temperature, they were used to adsorb Pb 2+ . The concentration of Pb 2+ was measured using atomic absorption spectroscopy to investigate the adsorption performance of the composite material. The effects of pH value, initial concentration, and adsorption time on the adsorption efficiency were studied through single factor and orthogonal experiments. The results showed that the optimal process conditions for the adsorption of Pb 2+ were pH=5, initial concentration of 2.5g/L, adsorption time of 30 minutes, removal rate of 70.65% at adsorption equilibrium, and adsorption capacity of 1150.32mg/g.
