Summary:Although trainee readiness is critical for diversity training effectiveness, extant research has not paid attention to the relationship between trainee readiness for diversity training and diversity training outcomes. This study identifies motivational, behavioral, and cognitive trainee readiness for diversity training and proposes a theoretical framework of how individual characteristics (perceived discrimination, demographic attributes, and previous diversity-related experience) and organizational characteristics (diversity climate and demographic dissimilarity) influence motivational, behavioral, and cognitive trainee readiness for diversity training.
