A Case of Breast Metastasis from Uterine Leiomyosarcoma

We report a case of breast metastasis in a patient with uterine sarcoma. A 58-year-old woman with a history of uterine sarcoma underwent total hysterectomy but developed relapse with multiple vertebral metastases 2 years postoperatively. She was presently admitted for evaluation of a right breast mass. Computed tomography revealed a right breast tumor (3 mm), which increased in size to 6 mm, following radiotherapy for bone metastasis. Mammography revealed a well-circumscribed mass in the right C area. Ultrasonography revealed a well-circumscribed round mass (approximately 6 mm in size) in the vicinity of the retromammary space. We performed a core needle biopsy of the breast mass, and histopathological evaluation of the resected tissue confirmed metastatic uterine sarcoma. The patient was administered systemic chemotherapy using doxorubicin and is currently receiving the _th treatment cycle. To our knowledge, breast metastasis from primary malignancies is rare. Moreover, distinguishing between breast metastases and primary breast malignancy and benign breast masses is challenging. This study highlights the importance of considering breast metastasis in the differential diagnosis in patients with breast tumors with a current presentation or history of malignancies.
