Summary: | The lack of power distribution lines affects remote areas with low-density loads. A single-wire earth return system (SWER) can be applied so power could reach such regions. These systems are limited to single-phase power and are insufficient to meet the problem of the growing demand. The three-phase two-wire distribution system (TPTW) system is applied to single-wire systems to make it three-phase. This work proposes an protection scheme to leverage the use of TPTW without relatively increasing the cost. In addition to eliminate the need for two fuses, this work seeks to assess whether the fuses in their positions meet the ability to isolate faults in the same way as the common topology. |
