Abstract Objective: This study aimed to evaluation of an education on decision-making support using the Japanese version of the OOVL.Methods: The study targeted 80 second-year students enrolled in the Faculty of Nursing at University A. The evaluation of the education was investigated and analyzed by using original questionnaires to assess the preparation of the human environment necessary for decision-making support, support for decision-making processes, and support for decision expression, both before and after the classes on decision-making support. The data were analyzed using Wilcoxon signed rank test with EZR ver. 1.61.Results: The analysis targeted 76 students who provided responses both before and after the class. Comparisons between pre- and post-class results showed a significant increase in scores after the class for four items related to the preparation of the human environment, seven items related to support for decision-making processes, and two items related to support for decision expression.Conclusion: The results suggest that the Japanese version of the OOVL can be utilized as a tool to teach decision-making support in basic nursing education programs.
