Abstract Mesoporous silica‐based nanoparticles, including silica, organosilica and metal doped silica and organosilica nanoparticles, have widespread applications in biomedical applications. This review summarizes the applications of mesoporous silica‐based nanoparticles in the field of cancer immunotherapy. Strategies to regulate the tumour microenvironment for immune activation are presented by highlighting the structural and compositional attributes of the silica‐based nanoparticles.
