Abstract Taiwan is one of the countries with the fastest growing elderly population in the world. After reaching 7% in 1993, the number of people over 65 years old jumped to 14% in 2018, and will increase to 20% in 2025. In just 25 years, Taiwan has progressed from an aging society to an aged society, and it will take another 7 years to further advance to a super-aged society.
