24 cholera cases in city this month [Times City]
According to data released by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation AMC health department on Monday there have been 1078 cases of diarrhoea 107 of jaundice 300 of typhoid, 24 cases of cholera from May 1 to 18Most of the cholera cases were reported from eastern parts of the city such as Lambha, DanilimdaThis calendar year 64 cholera cases have been reported from Amraiwadi Vatva Lambha Danilimda Maninagar Vastral Gomtipur Nikol Bhaipura, IndrapuriFresh cholera cases were reported from Sarkhej last week The highest number of cholera cases five were reported from Lambha in the May 118 period Sources in the health department said diarrhoea typhoid, jaundice are on the rise due to unsafe food, contaminated drinking waterAMC conducted 10189 chlorine tests from May 1 to 18 of which 446 samples were found to have no chlorine present Of the 2956 water samples taken for bacteriological examination 86 failed Vectorborne disease cases have reduced The AMCs data shows eight cases of swine flu in the same periodThe city saw 41 cases of swine flu in Jan 107 in Feb 232 in March, 126 in AprilTNN
