by Students attacked at hostelCops said accused professor his friend Shiva their associate Wasim a historysheeter of Adilabad along with two others entered campus at 1215am on Thursday They came in a car, on a bikeThe group went to mens hostel, assaulted house surgeons Dr Tallapelli Kavi Raj Dr Bharath Dr P Naveen Dr Abhishek Dr Pasupuleti Naveen, Dr Vijay who were standing in front of the hostel The accused behaved violently They used abusive language, assaulted us causing grievous injuries including head injuries bleeding lacerations, contusions Dr T Kavi Raj told the police As the students started retaliating after the initial attack the offenders tried to escape One of the victims Dr Abishek who was standing in front of the accuseds car fell on the bonnet as the vehicle started moving The offenders drove nearly 500 metres with the medical student on the bonnet, rammed the vehicle into the gate of the campus Dr Abhishek was thrown off the vehicle, he fell on the road due to the impact, sustained multiple injuries the complainant allegedThe car was damaged due to the collision, angry students managed to nab two offenders Shiva, Wasim, roughed them up before police intervened The other accused including Kranti managed to escape On Thursday police picked up Kranti, two more offenders into custody Seven accused have been identified Five of them are in custody police saidAssault due to an argumentCops said on Wednesday morning an argument took place between house surgeon Dr T Kavi Raj, RIMS director Jaisingh Rathod on campus The director warned Kavi Raj about driving car negligently on campus, the student replied rudely Kranti who is a distant relative of the director intervened, he was snubbed by students It provoked him to plan assault said Adilabad superintendent of police SP Uday Kumar Reddy Cops have been deployed on campus to prevent any untoward incidents
